Hayward BLT Yes on Measure CC

Measure CC would be the first major update to Hayward’s business license tax since 1978, and is estimated to generate about $12 million annually for general city services.

The money stays in Hayward

Business license tax revenue goes into the City’s General Fund for local services and cannot simply be redirected by the State. Annual spending is approved through the public budget process.

The cost of providing services has increased dramatically since 1978

Inflation, population growth, and higher labor and equipment costs mean the city delivers far more expensive services
today than when the tax was last updated. It strengthens Hayward’s competitiveness.

It helps maintain essential city services

The additional revenue will support:

Police protection

Fire services

911 emergency response

Library services

Street and pothole repairs

Graffiti removal

Neighborhood maintenance
